Do you guys have the standard or advanced ac? When do you notice this smell, when turning the ac on or off? Do you also turn the ac off sometimes or is it always active?

Seems to me that the odor is more prevalent when drawing outside air as opposed to recirculating interior air, or am I imagining?

My AC is auto and on all the time. The smell didn't come around until it became warm outside and the A/C cmae on instead of the heat.

By the way.
After the treatment, The car now smells like the chemical sued to clean it.
It will supposedly go away in 4-5 days.

Same pattern to my car also.
The smell hasnt came around for a week or so.
BTW. Even when is on heating the A/C is still on as it cools the air before heating it.

But the E60's AC doesn't cool the air as much as on previous models (before heating it that is) - it is only done when needed. The feature was developed for greater comfort, as breathing in too dry air could be quite uncomfortable over time.

I get foul odor when air conditioning is turned on. It smells like mulch.

Any idea why this would happen?

I took it in to deal with this annoyance.
change the air filter element? mine smells that when when a chick rides in the car. but it smells like her perfume instead of mulch.
