Knauz had me change my brake fluid after 20 months and i only had 4,000 miles on my car then. I have done 2 oil changes already and i only have 4500 miles on car now It is 2 years old though.

Go to Knauz doesnt make sense what they are telling you.

That's how i like to do my oil service interval. I drive a 535i and the oil gets really dirty after 5k because of the twin turbos and i plan on keeping the car for awhile. Some people do it every 7-8k but 15k is just rediculous! It's all a marketing gimmick! BMW makes such good engines that will last for 500k. They want the consumer to keep on spending on service visits and new car purchase but for them to achieve that they will need their cars to fall apart sooner by changing the oil at 15k and NOT replacing all the fluids you mentioned above. Why do you think it costs so much to maintain a BMW? It's all about the benjamins brotha!
You're throwing perfectly good cash down the crapper. What you're calling "really dirty" at 5K is simply the by-product of a modern synthetic oil doing its job... Your oil at 5K is fine, and you're really doing nothing to extend the life of your engine by changing it needlessly early.

You wont see thick black oil at 5k. It will be black but thats just carbon in the oil and the oil is supposed to pick up the carbon. The oil will be the same consistency as when you put it in and have plenty of life left, if it was old mineral oil then yeah i would change it but it isnt its synthetic oil and last for 1000s of miles without deteriating. Look at third world countries they are running old mineral oil in cars that never have an oil change just a top up, cover hundreds of thousands of miles(sometimes) in harsh conditions. Then you have other people who look at the very latest lubricant technology with the new engine technology and think the oil is bad at 5-8k miles. Even if you look at trucks they do 10s of thousands of miles without oil changes every 5k miles and they go on to do mega mileage, alot of which have done it with oil no where near as good as the sythetics now around.
Yes the car can go a long way w/o changing the oil every 5k but that's where the sludge build up occur. Yes the oil is still good BUT you're just risking more potential sludge build up!

If you want to know for sure, then send out your oil for a 3rd party test in a lab, and they will tell you how much "life" is left and what is in it. Someone on here just did that recently, and I believe his findings supported an interval of longer than 5k miles.

"my damn front brakes squeal like you wouldn't believe"

If your brakes are squeeling take it in, I did and they replaced them. If they do, make sure you properly "brake" them in after you pick her up... Squeeky brakes are never gonna show up on the idrive.

Oil is 10,000+. Changing it less is just throwing money down the drain.

Reason why your I-drive doesn't change as you drive is because it isn't a countdown. It measures wear. You could be stuck on 12K for 5,000 miles. Just all depends on how much braking you do.

Rest of the stuff check your manual on the service intervals. Coolant though can usually go 100K or 5 years with no problems and same with the tranny fluid.

For you squeaky brakes there is products out there that can take care of that problem.
