Gratz on the new ride. It sounds nice.

In regards to the rough ride, I think it is normal, mine does the same thing. Has since it was new. Ironically, the owners' manual says not to warm up the car. Just get in and drive. That works if you don't mind is sputtering the first few times you let out the clutch.

Let me know if the dealer can fix it for you, cause I'd be interested to know if it is just a programming thing.

dealer says normal for first couple thousand miles, service manager says this is characteristic of 550i engine.

on a side note.... get this. car is in the shop already, 96 miles on the odo. FLAT TIRE. dealer won't patch, $500 for a new Bridgestone RE050 Runflat. In can name that tune in 2 words or less - THIS SUCKS!

LOL..

only had 96 miles on it. personally, I think the piece that was stuck in tire was from the bmw shop, but can't be sure.. and didn't want the local tire shops messing with the runflats, since it normally takes 3 people to work with them if they don't know what they are doing.. so.... $524 bucks later... new again!

Bummer on the quick flat tire. But the RFTs worked, right? You just drove it to the dealer (where I'm sure they gave you a loaner?) and no big deal.

But congrats on your 3rd E60 ... that must be a record on this board.

Yes, 15-20 seconds of slightly rough idle is the standard for the 550i engine. But by the time you back out of the driveway - not a hiccup from there.

Have fun with the break-in because you are not going to believe what this engine can do once you open it up.

I'm sorry but that sounds quite sad. What would your grand pappy say if you told him you had to take your car to the dealer because of a flat tire. And on top of it they had to give you a loaner. I miss the days of taking my full size spare out of the trunk and swaping out the tire and dropping the bad tire off at a shop and picking it up later in the day while I continued to drive my BMW on a normal full size rim. <_<

thanks.. can't wait. so far, it feels a bit snappier than the 545i, but I have to say, it seems to JUMP when I go over a slight bump. doesn't stay down like the other Bimmers.. maybe I do have that recall problem with the springs?
