History:

The first owner bought the car in California in October 2004 and drove it till 49k miles. The second owner was a fellow forum member who purchased the car in November 2008. During his ownership, the following items were taken care of (he did the work himself so I do not have receipts for this):

• Waterpump
• Alternator
• Battery
• Alternator bracket gasket
• Both upper timing cover gaskets
• Both valve cover gaskets
• Vacuum pump seal
• Spark plugs
• Front control arm bushings
• Recall done on the vacuum pump line to brake booster and master cylinder replaced by the dealer
• New SMG Pump
• Fresh Transmission fluid
• Fresh Brake fluid
• Fresh Differential fluid

I am the third owner and purchased the car in May 2013 with 98k miles on it. I opted for a pre-purchase inspection at a highly regarded independent shop vs a BMW dealer as their inspection process was more thorough. The car received a clean bill of health and every issue was addressed in the hands of a ex BMW master mechanic with brand new BMW parts. A couple leaks were admittedly very small and could be fixed at a later date but I was keen on receiving a car that was a 100% and thus no expense was spared. The following work was performed:

• Replaced timing cover gasket.
• Replaced thermostat and coolant.
• Replaced transmission fluid tank, added fluid.
• Replaced lower oil pan gasket.

In addition, the following items have been taken care of in the last 18 months:

• Oil change
• Brake fluid flush
• Microfilter change
• New CiC system
• New battery + registration
• New alternator
• New wiper blades
• Replaced passenger side seat mat (BMW recall)

The Present:

As it stands today, the car is in great shape mechanically and cosmetically. All recalls have been taken care of. All electronics, devices, switches, knobs, buttons, instruments and gauges work as they should. There are no missing or broken buttons or levers. The brakes are good for at least another 10,000 - 15,000 miles. It still turns heads wherever it goes and drives like a dream. The SMG transmission is very fast and pairs up well with the v8. The car has a few tasteful upgrades which in my opinion give the car an OEM+ look. No racing, no smoking, no pets, no eating and drinking in the car, no driving in the snow and always garaged. Overall, this is a turnkey car which I would not hesitate to drive anywhere across the country.


The "Not So Perfect Things":

I would like to be fully transparent and list down all known imperfections.

• Two wheels have minor curb rash
• Small 2" scratch on driver door
• Paint chips/scratches on the front bumper and hood from regular driving

Reason for Sale:

While this car was purchased with the thought of keeping it long term and thus maintained with no expenses spared, my move to Seattle has meant that I hardly get to drive from my downtown location. I would prefer to sell the car to someone who would enjoy driving it more often and also save on the monthly parking fee.

The ABS module started to go so had a brand new one installed and programmed last week. Thats $800 in parts and labor taken care of, and as always, this car has received the right care. Car is now good to go, make me an offer.
