Ebaymotors.com scam?
#1
I've listed my 05 525i for sale on Autotrader.com. Today I received a call from a man stating he worked for a company called "Special Networking Ebay Motors". He indicated Ebay Motors contacted his company to find three BMW 525i to post for sale on Ebay Motors because they are in high demand at the moment. He said Ebay Motors would waive a normally obligatory commision fee of 5% and that Ebay Motors would benefit via the lending institutions which provided financing for the buyer. He said I would have to pay a one time "activation fee" of $339 and that the car was guaranteed to sale. Additionally, he said Ebay Motors would pay for any shipping costs to make the offer even more attractive to potential sellers. Anybody heard of anything like this before. Until I get some legitimate feedback I am going to presume this is a scam and refuse to touch the deal with so much as a long stick.

Sounds too good to be true. As with anything that sounds to good to be true, I'd be very cautious and likely stay away...
Especially when they ask for cash up front!
