My Ride: 2008 535i: June 6th start build, complete June 17th, at NY Port July 5th, at dealer July 10th, took delivery Friday July 13- Plantimum Bronze/Natural Brown Leather/Light Poplar, Sport Package, Sport Auto, Active Steering, Premium Package, CWP & PDC. Dinan Performance Software 384hp & 421 ft/lbs.
Went as a guest of BMWCCA on Saturday at 9am. Had the show to ourselves for two hours. BMW North America had refreshments and a presentation of each model including a question and answer session. They did not answer any of the good questions other than the 2004 E60 will not be coming with the rear red reflectors because of DOT issues.
Mercedes had alot of their performance cars there, some of the horsepower numbers are outta sight.
The saddest part of the show was walking past VW beatles, Golfs, and Jetta's to see the $70K Phaeton. The car is really nice but the association with the more pedestrian cars is a killer. VW should do what the Japs did with the Acura/Infiniti/Lexus upmodel brands.
A lot of concept and preview 2005 cars, well worth the trip.
