I've been holding off on this, trying to give Spooler every opportunity. As of this morning, I still do not have my refund, and the seats have been resold to someone else. I did speak with Spooler on Monday (I called him), and he indicated that on Sunday (Nov 29), that he had taken a check to his brother so that his brother could paypal me the refund. Apparently his brother was waiting for the check to clear so he could do the refund. My questions are these:

1) In this electronic age, why do you have to hand carry a check to New York in order to get the money where it needs to go?
2) A refund was promised on Nov 25. Today is Dec 3. And it was Nov 17 when he apparently decided not to ship the seats. You can do the math....
3) Why is the check clearing my problem? If you spent the money, you have two choices IMO. Ship the seats, or get a cash advance and refund the money immediately.

October 21 to Dec 3...a long time to have $950 hanging out there and nothing to show for it.

Honestly, Spooler sounds like a nice guy. He's always pleasant to talk to and I imagine if the circumstances of the transaction (distance, shipping complications) had been different, I would have like doing business with him. However, keeping my money for over a month isn't what someone of professionalism or integrity does. Having time to log onto the forums, but not to update your buyer, is also not what someone of professionalism does.

I think I'm all out of rope......

Kidding aside, thank you for the update on this serious issue. Let's see how long it takes Spooler to jump in with more damage control posts.

If he's smart, and I'm starting to wonder about that, he'll refund your money promptly before the members here decide to track him down...

I can't believe I missed this thread. Talk about shady. I'm surprised so many people jumped on his initial thread, considering it was never his car to begin with.

It could have been a neighbor's car who was out of town for that matter. He just manages to open the car and part it out...

Whoever knows all the contact information about this guy, just report it to the police or FBI. They have departments that deal with these issues.
