Default Beware of member pompey-pimp

Purchased an iDrive controller from him and it arrived damaged. From this thread:

https://5series.net/forums/private-m...roller-136510/

Item was received, but is damaged. The Seller packaged the iDrive controller in a couple of layers of bubble wrap and then a baggy wrapped with packing tape to travel from Fareham UK to Columbus Ohio in the USA. The item WAS NOT inside of a box of any kind. No doubt the item was damaged in transit, but at the fault of the Seller's inadequate packaging. There was no visible damage to the package, so the shipping company will not take responsibility.

The seller refuses to issue a refund.

PayPal was used to pay, but I paid VIA gift to save the Seller the fees. (shame on me) No dispute can be filed.

I will include pictures of the packaging used tonight.

Regards,
Tim

I am an honest person and have not had this problem before despite the amount of things I have sold and shipped around the world.

I will contact the Post Office on my return. As I mentione to you in a PM I am offshore at the moment and signal can be an issue, plus the receipt for posting is at home. I will speak to them Monday/Tuesday.

I think you have been a little unfair in posting so quickly to besmirch my name when you haven't given me a chance to try and put things right when you know I am away from home. I replied to you to state that it was in good order when I posted and I believed that it was suitablyl packaged and protected. Unfortunately things can and do go wrong when using the postal system but that is something I have no control over.

Like I said in my PM, your initial reply and lack of response to my follow up message prompted the thread. You had time to search the forum, find the thread and my reply in the FS thread, but did not have time to reply to my follow up message? It left me with the feeling that I was on my own, hence this thread.

We will have to agree to disagree on the packaging. I am certain that if a BOX would have been used to ship the item, this all could have been avoided. Bubble wrap, a bubble bag, and some packing tape, in no way seems adequate to ship an item, especially a piece such as an iDrive controller as far as it was shipped.

Well, it's been 2 weeks and still no reply from the seller. I tried sending a few PM's with no reply. There is nothing more I can do. I guess I am out $90.

AS I SAID, AVOID THIS MEMBER.
