I have a 6230i with 6.30 software with cradle for charging and it lets me download phonebook from sim only. I have had to setup all nos on a single bassis as it wont bring in contacts with multiple Nos. All seems well as I can make and receive calls and reception is good.

However I dont get text messages or any other features through Idrive. I also see other features mentioned in the manual like signal strength, battery strength, texts etc.

Can anybody tell me is there a compatible phone out there from any manufacturer thats fully feature compatible with bmw bluetooth and idrive?

I don't think BT support text message (SMS), it only works for the CPT-9000 system (wired)

Signal Strength display depends on your phone. The phones listed by BMW should have that displaying on the I-drive.

The BMWNA website has a list of compatible phones:

www.bmwusa.com -> Experience -> BMW Assist -> Hands Free Calling

On the bottom, there's a link to Recommended BT Cell phone.
