Bluetooth seems to drain battery quickly. Is there a way to either get a longer lasting battery or keeping charge longer

The only remedy is to deactivate BT when not needed.

Extended cell phone batteries are generally available ... or plug it in to keep it charged. My Moto Maxx is good for 1.5 - 3 hours of talk time when BT'ed. I do find that letting the battery go nearly fully discharged and doing an over-night charge once in a while helps even though the manufacturer (Motorola) claims that new cell phone battery technology makes that unnecessary.
