I have the same problem going to look into it this week and and do the same. I actually got tired of people telling me to repeat myself, so I just disconnected the bluetooth on my phone.

Maybe now I can put it back on again

I'm having the same exact issue! Thanks for the write up and pics... but my main question is where can I get the foam?
I scoured home depot, lowes and my garage, cant find any foam lying around anywhere.

Where did you find the foam, or what did it come out of, lol...

Okay well I tried two different types of foam and insulation. It still did not work. I ended up getting this... Saicoo® Bluetooth 4.0 Receiver for Car Stereo ... got it from amazon for like $25 bucks. There are some pros... I sound absolutely clear to my callers. Granted the foam was better it was not perfect. The bluetooth connection is instantaneous compared to the bmw load times. I have it plugged into my aux port in the back and the mic/controller to the right of the parking brake before the idrive controller. Major downside... you have to be in aux to use it. I feel BMW should have this problem but at least I can sound like im in a quality car while driving now.

I have the iPhone/iPod 30pin integrated module installed and use the ViseeO Tune2Air, it has cd quality sound and is controlled by idrive and steering wheel controls.

Just wish I could get info on that sponge, and where to get a couple inches of that stuff to get the background noise reduced from the integrated Bluetooth mic...
