This option won't work for you. And in order to get bluetooth at all, it will require coding.

The Tune2Air products get great reviews and I'll probably buy this latest model if my $10 option doesn't pan out. At this time the controls through iDrive are not worth an additional $80 to me but if my cheap alternative begins to drop the connection I'll scoop up the Tune2Air for sure.

The Tune2Air picking up the song where you left off when you enter the car the next time is a nice feature too that my cheap alternative doesn't do.
do it for the sound quality alone! when u play music thru the bluetooth and then switch to the radio, the radio sound is so much louder than you have to turn it down a bit.

what's $80 nowadays! i paid like $65 when it was on sale and $30 for the cable.

I'm going to give it a try this week. After using my cheap option for a while I'm estimating it loses the pairing with my phone about 10% of the time. That might be acceptable to some but not for me, I want it to pair every time or why even have bluetooth? Might as well just plug the phone directly in the AUX jack.

And I know for sure it's the BT device not finding the phone because my car has paired with the phone 100% of the time.

Still was worth a try for $10 try but isn't a solution for me.

@seven11 - You were completely right, the Tune2Air is the perfect solution. It connects every time, resumes the audio source that was playing at start up, displays the track info in iDrive and allows for use of the steering wheel controls.

Conclusion - I wasted $10 on trying the cheap fix but now have the perfect solution for $85.

Thanks for your help!
