bluetooth, but no voice dial

Hi, I've just bought 11/04 530d m sport. it has bluetooth phone but when i press the voice button on steering wheel i get nothing. no beep, no symbol. the car doesn't have extended voice control. i assumed bluetooth capability included voice dialling.
would appreciate any help.

The topic is covered so often. Even without you telling us I can guess that you have an EU spec car with Professional Navigation. In order to get any kind of voice when you have pro nav you must get the Extended Voice input option. You can retrofit it quite easily.

Thanks for your answer bruce. I will get onto the dealership and see how much it will cost. I thought i had searched quite thoroughly "Bluetooth + voice" but didn't find what i was looking for. thanks for your patience.
