Why Should I Get an Oil Catch Can?
The main reason to add the BSH Oil Catch Can to your N54 engine is the reduction/elimination of blow-by. Blow-by is caused when a combustion in the engine forces fuel, air, and moisture past the piston rings and into the crankcase. From there, the blow-by is released by the crank case vents and back into the intake pipe. This occurs on all engines, but is worse on turbo engines due to the stronger combustion. If nothing is done, this excess ?gunk? will build up in the valvetrain, turbo, intercooler, and intercooler piping.
Why is this bad for my N54 Engine?
The BSH Competition Catch Can collects the blow-by and ensures you a clean and healthy N54 engine. This a great investment to increase the life and efficiency of your N54 twin-turbo equipped BMW.

Why is this bad for my N54 Engine?
- Blow-by coats the intercooler piping and fins which reduces the cooling efficiency
- Blow-by buildup in the intake pipe can cause disruptions in airflow
- Blow-by buildup in the turbo diminishes the life and efficiency of the turbo
- Blow-by can seep into couplers and boost tubes causing them to pop off during high boost
The BSH Competition Catch Can collects the blow-by and ensures you a clean and healthy N54 engine. This a great investment to increase the life and efficiency of your N54 twin-turbo equipped BMW.
