once you cut the stalk you can replace the unit at a later point in time but it'll be around 300 for the replacement stalk i believe

Did you trim the stalk while installed on the car or take the stalk off first?

you can't take the stalk itself off so it has to be trimmed while in the car unless you remove the shifting components and take them out.

How exactly would you trim the stock?
I would use a sharp hacksaw and some towel wrapped around the bottom of the shaft to catch the shavings.

a dremel tool would actually work best.

Cripes Schulrog, then we would really be shooting metal fillings all over the car. I'll stick with the hacksaw. Much less messier.
