BMW is already working on the next 7. It will be tested on 06 & 07 and will be out in 08 as an 09 MY.

Was I blind or did I not see a shifter or anything by the center console? All I saw was the i-Drive.

The gear selector on the E65 7 series has always been a column stalk.

oh, Don't know to much about a 7 series. Are you refering to the Steering column? IF so that could not be true. My friend has an older 7 series that shifts from the center sonsole, and it is Auto.

The 7series doesn't have it anymore. Only Auto tranny without selector in the center console... But two cool cupholders who actually COOL the drink, instead of the shifter...

...and mayby has the ability to carry a cup in it?
The E60?s cupholder is really bad, but better than the one I had in my E39...

Kigerka,

The E65 is the current model 7 series and yes, I meant that the gear selector is on the steering column. This is the first 7 series to have the gear selector in this position. There is no manual gearbox option on the E65.

The other strange thing about the 7 is that the parking brake is operated by a button on the dashboard. It takes a little getting used to.
