Spy Shots: M2 Running the ‘Ring
The rumor mills have been churning with M2 speculation for a long while now, even before the 2 Series was announced, but at long last their weary workers can get themselves some rest. The M2 prototype has been spotted on the ‘Ring, and even wearing a few production garments. This is new, considering for the past few months the mules have been covered in various tacked-on body bits.
It’s clear this is the M2. Even at first glance, the front and rear fascias are significantly more aggressive than the M235i. If that doesn’t give it away, then the quad-tip exhaust, cross-drilled rotors, big calipers, and M3/M4 high-performance wheels had better make it clear to you.
BMW’s N55 turbocharged inline six is likely to live under that production bonnet, and it’s anticipated to put out around 360-380 horsepower. The M limited-slip differential should also be available in the model. Keep your eyes peeled because production is slated for fall of 2015.
