BMW M4 Hooning

I got to spend a few hours with some BMWs a few weeks ago. It was a complete blast, but what I didn’t get to do was spend any time with any of the M cars, which sucked, especially considering they had a BMW M4 on hand. The first-ever M4. For those of you out of the loop, the M4 is the coupe version of the M3 within BMW’s new naming scheme.

I really wanted the last-generation M3 coupe. The only problem was I couldn’t fit. While I didn’t get to drive the new M4, I did get to sit in it, and I’m happy to report I now fit by a whole four inches.

But that’s not the point of this article. The point is to show you that even though the name has changed, the spirit of the M3 lives on within the M4: all that energy, all that poise, all that wanton hooning. It’s all there, still. To prove that, BMW called upon its community for a one-of-a-kind initiation, and it’s epic. Take a peek.
