E63 BMW M6 Versus F06 M6

2013 BMW M6 Powerslide

I hate to say it, but while the new BMWs and their turbocharged inline-six cylinder engines are phenomenally fast, there’s still a place in my heart that yearns for one of the monstrous V10s. It’s not only the noise they make, something you can never get tired of, but the way they built speed that was just ridiculous. There’s an air of drama that seems to have been lost on the German brand as of late.

That is until the brand-new M6 Gran Coupe came out. Its 4.4L twin-turbocharged V8 pumps out a staggering 560 horsepower and 501 lb-ft of torque. It’s a monster, and definitely faster than its predecessor. That is, perhaps, until someone brings a tuned version of the previous M6.

Here we have all the makings of an epic race. A brand-new M6 Gran Coupe versus an M6 with a flash and new exhaust. Let’s see what happens next. Personally I’m rooting for the older car.

Well, not really much of a surprise there. But I don’t care if the new M6 is faster. The noise from the V10 is the winner in my book.
